According to a report by Michael Cohen, a number of residents in and around the
village or Mezoband in the Mures region of Transylvania at the
foothills of the Carpathian Mountains witnessed a UFO three weeks ago.
The mayor of this town in an area largely populated by Hungarian minority, Mr. Mircea Rusu, is planning on organizing a UFO festival. This is by no means the first UFO seen in the area and the mayor hopes to increase tourism into the area by promoting it as a Romanian "Roswell." The village is only a stone's throw away from the region's main metropolis of Sighisoara, the birthplace of Vlad the Impaler or Count Dracula. Local residents live daily with a very paranormal heritage. Ghosts, Witchcraft, magic and Paganism or remnants are very much a part of the local scene. The entire region is generally regarded as rather spooky with its very Gothic churches and town as well as its dark mist shrouded forests. Visiting Aliens might very well be a 21st century addition to this heritage.
Clearly, the commencement of UFO sightings should demonstrate Romania's democratization and Westernization. UFO sightings have decreased in the US over the past decade. Is the UFO the guardian angel of capitalism? Let's see where this angel is spotted next.
